Nikon is breathing life into the COOLPIX line with two new pocket-sized compact cameras aimed at shooters looking for something more advanced than a smartphone.
The COOLPIX A1000 is built around a 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, has a 35x optical zoom lens with a range of 24mm-840mm, and the ability to shoot 4K UHD video. Here is what else we know about it:
- ISO range up to 6400
- 1166k-dot electronic eye-level viewfinder
- Lens-shift vibration reduction for sharp images in low light scenarios
- 1036K-dot 3-inch tilting touchscreen display
- Active D-lighting function helps reduce loss of detail in highlights and shadows during high contrast lighting situations
