This 130 Smartphone Camera Photo Booth Takes 540-degree Bullet Time Photos
This is what you can do with a whole crate full of smartphone cameras
By now, you probably know how bullet time works. It’s that effect from The Matrix where a circle or semi-circle of cameras is fired simultaneously at an object in the middle resulting in a collection of photos taken from slightly different angles. The images can then be edited together for a cool cinematic effect.
The folks at Qualcomm wanted to show off their Snapdragon processor, so they made a 540-degree photo booth out of HTC One smarphone cameras. They sent subjects inside of it and made nifty rotating videos of them doing various actions from dancing to plain-old jumping.
It’s not the most visually perfect example of the art form, but it’s not bad for a bunch of smartphones.
