This Flatpack Leica Model Is Impractical, Fun
A laser-cut sheet of plastic becomes an awesome, non-functional camera
This model Leica made by Marcelo Ribiero would look great on our shelves. All the pieces of the camera were laser cut into sheets of plastic. You then snapped them out and assembled them like you would a typical model car or plane. Sadly, it wasn’t actually a functional camera.
While they were never distributed, there is an interesting video that shows what the process of putting it together would be like. It’s very cool, if entirely impractical. If there are any of these kicking around, they’ll likely become pricy collector’s items some time down the road.
If you still want a camera you can put together yourself, you can always get one of the awesome Lomography Konstruktor camera kits and make an SLR that actually works!
