The Cotton Carrier Steady Shot Fights Camera Shake Using Your Chest

Cotton Carrier has just announced a new accessory for their Cotton Carrier Camera Vest — a system designed to strap your camera to your chest to keep it easily at hand and safely stowed. The new accessory is the Cotton Carrier Steady Shot, which extends a mount from the vest, firmly anchoring your camera directly in front of your face, and giving you maximum stability by strapping it to your chest.
While the rig looks similar to some of the video-oriented steady-camera DSLR rigs we’ve seen lately, this one seems like it would be totally appropriate for anyone who regularly uses a long, heavy lens. Sure, it looks a little dorky, but if you don’t want to carry a monopod, it could be a good alternative.
The Steady Shot is made from anodized, machined 6061 aluminium with all stainless steel fittings, so it should be able to handle some pretty heavy abuse. It’ll correctly lock into any 1/4″ threaded Quick Release CLAMP, so it shouldn’t pose a problem with any of your existing gear.
The Steady Shot is up for pre-order on their website, and will set you back $199.99, with delivery scheduled for the end of August.
