Putting together a collection of classic camera gear can be a ton of work, achieved through a lifetime of dedication and ceaseless chasing. Or, you could just plunk down a cool $1 Million (plus $1,000 for shipping) for this collection of “thousands” of classic cinema lenses.
The auction comes from Calkovsky Cinema Worldwide, a very reputable seller in the cinema world. The collection has some very recognizable names like Zeiss, Canon, Schneider, and other companies that may be much more familiar to cinema shooters than still photographers.
According to the listing, all of the lenses are in working order and are well-maintained.
For an auction like this, I wish the pictures of the actual lenses were, well, better. It’s hard to get a real grasp on how huge this collection really is and what’s in there. Still, how awesome would it be to roll into a room like that with a high-end mirrorless camera and a sack full of adapters to give all these a try?
