Of this agonizing steeplechase moment captured in 2008 at the water jump, Simon Bruty says, “when Veronica Nyaruai Wanjiru came over, she was in an awkward position. Something made her change her shape. I followed her down as if she was in a diving pool. She fell flat and was pushed back down repeatedly. I knew I would get something interesting.”
