It just got a whole lot easier to share your GoPro photos and videos with the world thanks to a new version of the GoPro app, announced today.
Aimed at iOS and Android users, the new app gives you complete control over your Wifi-enabled GoPro, but also introduces a social element intended to help users find other videos and photos shot on GoPro cameras. Basically, they want to give you a reason to open the app, even when you’re not shooting anything.
Users can fire off photos and record video all from their smartphone or device. But there is so much more: You can literally control any and all settings on their GoPro, like resolution, frame-rate and camera angle; even view your battery level. The app also gives users a live view of what their GoPro is seeing, perfect for times you mount one in a hard to reach spot and want to see the action, like when sharks try to eat it or better yet, bears.
In “GoPro on Your Phone” mode, its incredible simple to playback photos and videos. If your SD card is running low on space, sorting and deleting files is no problem either. And when you’re ready to share something, simply download it to your device and upload it to your favorite social network.
The app itself is free and available in the iOS App Store and on Google Play. Make sure to update your GorPro to the latest firmware before trying to sync it with the app.
